How much and for how long would you introduce a bait before you think it will be readily accepted as a food source, say if you were fishing a 5 acre pond with 100 fish and when would you decide that they dont particulary like that bait/flavour and make a switch to another bait, would you give it more than 5 48hr sessions or longer. Tell me your thoughts on prebaiting techniques etc

cheers.

That depends on whether you are using a attractor bait, or a nutritional bait it might pay to change if you are using a attractor bait, but you will have to give a nutritional bait a bit longer, so that the carp find and keeping finding this bait is good for them.

I always prebait a few area's with different baits, and see what they do with it ???

Do they clean it up straight away (within a few hours) or does it sit there for a few days before it is eaten.

Unfortunately there is never a easy way, otherwise we wouldn't get the buzz from trying, it is all trial and error.

luckily for me my food source bait is a nutritional bait then Wink Wink I have managed to prebait a few areas now for several weeks but it looks like all the other species have found out as well as i am catching a few small carp, lots of bream, tench and even pike now ,its a funny old game, and an expensive one Crying or Very sad Very Happy Very Happy I will carry on and see what else occurs but if i keep catching the bream etc then i will stop as it is unlikely that my bait is even getting through to the carp and they are turning into expensive looking bream Crying or Very sad

6.4 lb bream 19/5/08
