Does anybody know anyone who actually fishes for carp this way.
I think its getting quite big in the States, but i dont hear must press about it in the Carp Mags, although it does seem to be getting mentioned a wee bit in the Game fishing mags.
Anyone ever tried this Carp Fly fishing, let alone anyone ever caught one on a fly.

The Futures Bright..........The Future is Carp Fishing
I always give it a go in the summer months, i get the carp in a feeding frenzy and fly fish a cut down muddler fly (which basically look like chum mixer).
Absolute magic when you get one on and a pleasure to catch.
One tip though, watch you fingers, cause when they want to go they go, and if they take off the whole fly line and get you down to the backing , it is thick braid that will cut you down to the bone and them some.
I either use a full glove or a finger stool to protect my pinkies.
I have read and heard about it,but have never seen it done, i imagine it would be very exciting,i have dry fly fished for trout and grayling and that is tremendously exciting, but have not tried it for carp as yet because i have never felt that it would increase my catch rate any more than how i surface fish anyway although i may give it a go this year as i am also fishing an 80 acre reservoir and would have ample room behind me to try it
Certainly give it a go, it is absolutely mental when they get going.
Plus often you pick off the wary large carp that scoot around the area, because they can't see the line or any type of controller.
You do need a decent rod & reel, a rod that will take either a 8 or 9 floating line with backing (which you will definately use) and something like 6 or 8lbs double strength line tied to either a size 10 or 12 deer's hair muddler (cut of the tail).
I have also taking a few on proper dry fly patterns, which make it even better.
