Hi Carpassassin,

I b from zumerzet and fish a fair few lakes around here, and yes we do have a few lakes with heads of fish over 30.

Follyfoot Farm, Has got a few carp over 30 and Steve Jackson fishes it frequently and to be honest its a nice place to fish.

Emerald Lakes has a few over 30 on Jade and is again a nice fishery, Alan the guy who owns and runs it is a top man, you can also do short breaks or holidays there as he has recently had some cabins built.

Chard Reservoir, has carp over 30, never fished it myself but know anglers that have and again say its a good place to fish.

Velocity have 10 over 30 in at present and Shane is going to add another 200 fish over the winter all over 20 except 4 which will be over 40. The carp championships were held there earlier this year. Have to say i really enjoy fishing here, even though its not an easy water, as it has a fair amount of weed in which on talking to Shane he is going to clear before christmas.

Browns ponds also has a few over 30 in and nt a bad place to go.

If you fancy a real challenge then the river Huntspill is a great place to fish, up until 2006 it held the record for the biggest river carp at 42.6.

Cellophane is another lake that have some good wild carp in and if it wasnt for the guy who runs it Steve, who is a real B**lshi**er, i would fish this more often, but been there twice and wont go back unless management changes. I know of 2 people who he has ripped off one for 500 pound and the other was for 60. Cant be doing with taking my custom there, shame really.

My claim to fame is Walrow Factory Pond in Highbridge, i caught my PB there (dont Laugh) at 32.4. Its a very hard water to fish but if you get it right you can land yourself some stunning carp but patience is a vertu here.

Hope this helps

Walrow hard now thats funny which swim did you catch that 32.4 from and was it Gut Bucket, i fished it for a bit and never had anything worth shouting about but then there are a few big uns in there my best from there was 22lb 3oz . Got any photos you could put up.

There are a few syndicate waters around with publicity bans that hold big carp to over 40lb but there are huge waiting list and silly rules on these.

Coombwich has some big uns in i heard as does Trinity never fished em so cant comment on them.

Emborough ponds on top off cheddar gorge has 2 30lb fish in and is only £60 a year with no close season and night fishing really shallow though about 4ft at its deepest and 1/2ft at shallowest boillies in warmer weather along the dam wall single pop ups fished with stick mix or pellet in the colder months.
